Junkin' and grandkids

Whew! I'm wore out! Justin and I kept Della and Maxel Friday and Saturday afternoon so Holly and Craig could work on their rental house. Too much energy for these old grandparents! But we loved the time we spent with them.

Della has her daddy's "bubble-butt"! J-Lo better watch out!

Amelia stayed with Aunt Janet Friday and with mom and dad yesterday.

Janet, Micki, and I went yard saling yesterday. Didn't think many would be out, but we were able to find quite a few.
Beautiful bird plate $1.....
 Old teacup 25 cents.....
Hall 'Autumn Leaf' custard cup $1.....
 Angel trinket box $1.......
Bird house $1. I'm going to hang this outside.
Bride & groom Avon bottles $1 each. These are for Pam, who collects vintage Avon.
An old co-worker messaged me that she had "tons" of yarn from her mother's knit shop. Boy, she wasn't kidding! Most were on spools that are used for knitting machines but I did get this kitchen cotton for a bargain.....

She said she had more to go through and I told her to keep me in mind. Here's a couple of pictures she shared on Facebook...

Today we're just going to rest! I need to crochet because I haven't for two days! Going through yarn withdrawals!

Crochet block

I'm at a roadblock ! Not sure what to crochet next. This happens to crocheters quite a lot so it's not unusual. In the meantime, I kept myself busy trying the In Bloom Cal. I wanted the Cath Kidston colors, so this is my version.

Using worsted weight made quite a large block. It's large enough for a baby or just a lap afghan.
I've been admiring a lady's work on Instagram for quite some time.

She charges $40 for the pattern!!! Ridiculous! So, I've been studying her photos and started my own version.
This is just the start but I'm going to see where this goes. Basically I start adding rows to the top and then embellish with flowers. $40 my ass! Highway robbery! I asked her why she charged so much and she replied because it was very detailed and included a YouTube tutorial! Must not be too detailed if I can figure it out by looking at her photos! Wish me luck!

Mother Nature is a Bitch!

Last month we had temperatures in the 80's. I kept saying that winter was not over and today Mother Nature proved me right! 37 degrees and snowing!!

And to make matters worse, we lost an hour of sleep due to daylight savings time! Who's the moron that said that was a good idea??
I'm just going to stay inside where it's warm and dry, watch TV, and crochet. I finished making bunny rabbits for a friend and was lost as to what to do next. I started this pattern, but I'm not in love with it.
Pam and I went to visit mother yesterday. At 10 o'clock, she still hadn't been bathed and was still in the bed! I do not like this facility at all! After we left, we stopped at a couple of thrift stores and Goodwill. Bad time of the day for Goodwill! Too many people!! I did find a couple of goodies at the first thrift store. A ceramic rabbit for 50 cents and a parakeet tray for $1!
I googled the tray when I got home and found out that it was the lid for a tin produced by the Sunshine Biscuit Co. in 1974. There was also one with woodpeckers at the store and I wish I had gotten it now! Maybe it'll still be there when I go back!

I finally got the dinosaur working that I bought a couple of weeks ago at Goodwill for $9.99. I had to buy a charger, remote, and new battery.
Declan and Xander loved it but Josh was scared. I haven't shown Della and Maxel yet.
That's it for now. Stay safe and warm!

Oh, what a night!

Last night was a rough one. I went to bed around 10 and thought I had indigestion. At 10:30, I decided I better go to the bathroom where I lost everything I had eaten. Dry heaves!! Then diarrhea! Back up an hour later doing the same thing! I feel better but still feel blah! What a way to start a new month!

Pam and I stopped at Goodwill yesterday on the way to visit Mom.
Three Hummel miniature plates 99 cents each...
Jesus and children $1.99
Chain saw and leaf blower $2.99 each. Just needed batteries.
Bonsai tree $1.99
Penguin carolers $2.99
West Virginia tumbler $1.99
Best deal....Imaginext Spike the Ultra Dinosaur $9.99! I had to order a remote and extra battery but still a good deal considering these sell for around $149!
Finished the Frida's Flower blanket....

Sitting here relaxing with my ginger ale. Don't feel like doing nothing!!

Saturday junkin'

I really didn't want to get up early this morning and I really did not want to go to the local tire store! But Justin had to lay out a pool this morning, so I took four ATV tires to the store to have the rims swapped. After I finished there, I headed to Walmart to pick up a prescription. On the way I found two yard sales!!! Made the trip worthwhile!
This little knitter was only a $1! The seller told me she found her in a home that hadn't been touched since 1968!
When I told her I crocheted, she gave me this yarn for free! It's only one ball and the remains of someone's work.
This "Maw" cup was $1. She also told me a story about how she broke the "Paw" cup out of anger when her husband was killed .
I also got these two lounge chair cushions for $10 each. The pool chairs were in need of some new ones.
Found another sale nearby. Elvis ornament and birds for 75 cents!
What a way to start a beautiful weekend!
